I am using Etcher for writing the image to the SD card. Format the SD using a tool like SD Memory Card Formatter if it is not done already.ģ. While the hardware is good, the Raspberry Pis success rests in the wide selection of operating systems available. Download the latest image of Raspbian from here - Ģ. You can do almost anything with a Raspberry Pi, from running a low budget space program to streaming PC games. First, power on the Raspberry Pi, open Terminal and type in sudo raspi-config. This method installs an image of Raspbian directly in the SD card using an image writing tool like Etcher.ġ. If you want to hang the monitor vertically instead of horizontally, you will also need to rotate the display. I find method 2 to be the most straight forward to setup Raspbian with SSH and Wi-Fi connectivity preconfigured. But it is challenging to use NOOBS if you don’t have the USB devices. If you have a USB keyboard and mouse, using NOOBS gives you an interactive interface to easily install Raspbian (or any other OS). The Raspberry Pi 4 (8GB) is also a strong choice, but with current software, youll be hard pressed to use more than 4GB. Raspberry Pi team has released Raspberry Pi Imager which can be used to burn OS images to SD cards and it provides options to enable SSH and setup WiFi using a simple interface.
